The World Challenge Stage 3 2016

We started in Anchorage and ran a thirty five day line to Panama, crossing Alaska’s ranges and the empty north of Canada before a pause on Vancouver Island. The route continued through the United States for Yellowstone and Pikes Peak, then turned south along Mexico’s Pacific side and across Central America to the finish in Panama City. Small group, inspected stays, daily briefings, and an offline roadbook kept the organisation active in the background while support stayed within reach

Highlights included orca watching off Vancouver Island, the geysers of Yellowstone, the climb to Pikes Peak, and long coastal stages in Mexico before mountain crossings into Belize and Guatemala. Later sections threaded El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica, with weather and road conditions adding honest challenge in the tail of the rainy season.
