Stage 5 took us across one country and an entire continent. From Perth we moved into the wide interior where heat, dust, flies, and long horizons test both driver and machine. Days on honest gravel alternated with clean tarmac, and the organisation stayed active in the background so the road and the landscapes could lead.
The contrast defined the journey. Empty outback tracks gave way to ocean light and beaches that felt endless, then to the mountain folds of the southeast and, finally, to Tasmania. We met the stories of the First Peoples and the early settlers, drove routes that balanced distance with pause, and ended in Hobart with the quiet sense of a large chapter completed.
