We set off from Eemnes and crossed to the Alps in five days, finishing with a lunch above Grindelwald. Stages ran Eemnes to Ecublens near Lausanne, then to Combloux, on to Celerina in the Engadin, across to Vals, and a final morning over classic Swiss passes to Grindelwald.
Highlights included Galibier, Télégraphe, Sarenne, Glandon, Madeleine, Simplon, San Bernardino, Splügen, Maloja, Bernina, Gavia, Stelvio with Umbrail, Ofen, Albula, Oberalp, the old Gotthard, Nufenen, and Grimsel. Hotels were authentic and well placed, with clear daily briefings and offline roadbook navigation keeping the organisation in the background.
