South America 2016

In September 2016 we organised a South American chapter for the Hong Kong Land Rover Club as part of their round-the-world tour. Fifteen Land Rovers set out from Paramaribo and crossed the Surinamese interior into Brazil’s Amazon, then climbed the Andes to Peru. The route mixed jungle ferries, laterite and gravel, and long tarmac days, with our organisation active in the background so the road and the landscapes could lead.

Highlights included a full day at Machu Picchu and driving across the Salar de Uyuni in neighbouring Bolivia. It was pure 4×4 travel with clear briefings, trusted local partners, and well-chosen overnights where the route allowed, balanced by simpler stays when remoteness asked for it.
