In the coming weeks we will be in West Africa to “put together” the final stage of The World Challenge. A job we’ve been doing for eight weeks. Whether this is enough will be seen in the coming period.
We start all the way south, in Cape Town. We then leave South Africa and drive north through the countries of Namibia, Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Gabon, Cameroon and Nigeria. The HiLux was left behind after stage 6 in Cape Town for maintenance, various adjustments and damage repair. Richard Giller of 4×4 Megaworld has made sure the HiLux is ready for the job again.
The first obstacle is already expected in Angola. The visas are in, but just before departure Angola has closed its borders to people who have been in China after 1 December 2019. Indeed, Thom visited Kunming and the surrounding area in early December.
