Africa Expedition

November 2024

Namibia, Botswana, South Africa.

  • 30 days with manageable stages.

The route

The start is in Walvis Bay, Namibia. The choice is yours: either we ship your car to Namibia and back, or we arrange a rental car. A well-equipped 4×4 that can also be driven in the dunes. In the north, get off the beaten track between Walvis Bay and the Skeleton Coast. With one of our colleagues on site. You will then move individually toward Botswana and drive through the Okavango Delta.

You cross the Makgadikgadi salt pans, and the Transfrontier Kgalagadi National Park. The expedition ends in the dunes, in five days you will drive through the totally enclosed area north of Lüderitz. Under supervision, of course!

Accommodation

During this expedition, we have put together a mix of simple (if nothing else) and beautiful lodges. During dune riding there will be camping. A team from CarChallenge will provide a more than excellent camp. The beauty of the expedition, you have your own say in the accommodation. Would you rather sleep in the rooftop tent than in a luxury lodge? The choice is yours!

Support (remote)

During the Africa Expedition you will drive the same route in a group of up to 8 cars, you will stay overnight with each other in the same hotels. On eleven days you will be supervised by our colleagues, the other days there will be remote supervision. And you can always call on our colleagues on the ground. Each team gets a satellite box from us so we can always come to your aid when needed, on site and remotely we can provide technical assistance.
