After finishing the Amsterdam Sydney Challenge, we will host our first event in New Zealand in March 2024. The world’s most remote country consists of two major islands, the North Island and the South Island.
The start is in Auckland on the North Island. The two islands are different in character and around the halfway point of the Kiwi Challenge we sail over to the South Island.
The hilly North Island has volcanism. From the center of the island, a volcanically active zone runs to the northeast. We are going to visit the geysers in this area.
The South Island is the largest and is traversed from north to south by the New Zealand Alps. In this mountain range there are 17 peaks that rise above 3,000 meters. The highest peak in this mountain range is Aoraki or Mount Cook. We are definitely going to see this one!
Inspection trip
The exact program all depends on the inspection trip. We will travel to New Zealand in November 2023 to prepare the event to perfection. We drive the route, visit the hotels and check out the proposed restaurants. We will keep you, the participant, informed of progress.
