The World Challenge Etappe 7
Inspection trip, blog 2.
After a fast start to the north, the inspection trip has been delayed. The fever that Jan Willem does not get rid of – no, no covid-19 phenomena – makes it impossible to cross the border crossing with Namibia. Everywhere the temperature of travelers is recorded. If in doubt, there is a good chance that a two-week quarantine will follow.
Thom also has a “scratch” on the blazon. As a recent China visitor, Angola seems to be more and more a no-go.
In the meantime, the world has changed rapidly. Both Congos have issued a decree requiring all visitors to be quarantined for 14 days. And 14 days of quarantine in Congo is not something that appears on the bucket list of both Thom and Jan Willem.
In short, we too are affected by the effects of Covid-19. There’s nothing left for us but a pass on the spot. In the coming week we will wait in South Africa and use it to make plans for the future. The inspection trip will either resume or take place at a later date.
